Kate Hudson Says Her Three Kids Are ‘Really Wild’ For Christmas Traditions


Kate Hudson reveals her favorite holiday traditions she shares with her three children.

The 43-year-old actress is mother to son Ryder, 18, with ex-husband Chris Robinson; son Bingham, 11, with ex-fiance Matt Bellamy; and daughter Rani Rose, 4, with fiancé Danny Fujikawa, whose family has “so many” Christmas traditions.

“The Night Before Christmas” – every night we read a book. And Santa knows. … Usually, when the kids are sleeping, Santa shows up and it’s really wild because the kids don’t believe it,” Hudson told E! News.

“And the kids are crazy. So they go to sleep. And Santa usually leaves hints about what he likes to eat and drink at night.

“And some years it’s cookies and milk,” the “Glass Onion: The Secret Knife” star said. “Some years it’s like rum, coke and licorice. Some years it’s more like a dirty martini because it needs a break.

Last month, the “Fool’s Gold” actress opened up about co-parenting her three children with three different fathers.

“It might not look traditional on the outside, but inside I feel like I’m killing it,” the Academy Award nominee told The Sunday Times.

“The division that I have created with my three children with three different fathers is a very strong division and it is ours.

“I’m not interested in forcing traditional ideas about love or marriage. I want to be in an intimate relationship with my partner for a long time, but I don’t have rose-colored glasses either.

“My goal in life is I want to feel love and give love, but I’m also practical, so one day at a time,” Hudson added. “I work really hard on relationships because I like them. My parents did a great job of keeping this dance going.

Hudson meant his mother Goldie Hawn77 and her 39-year-old partner Kurt Russell, 71. Although Hudson is the biological daughter of Hawn and musician Bill Hudson, 73, the actress said she considers Russell to be her father.

In May 2000, Kate met Robinson, and a few days later the couple moved in together. The couple married on New Year’s Eve that year, and Hudson gave birth to Ryder in 2004. The two separated in November 2006 and finalized their divorce in October 2007.

Hudson said her oldest is “in college and very happy” and that “Chris and I have to check in every now and then.”

The Fabletics founder and Bellamy, 44, began dating in 2010 after meeting at the Coachella music festival in Indio, California. The two announced their engagement in April 2011 and welcomed Bingham “Bing” in July of that year.

In December 2014, the actress and Muse announced that they had ended their relationship. However, they have been on good terms since ending their romance, with Hudson telling the Times that he “couldn’t ask for better parents”.

The “Almost Famous” star In December 2016, the 36-year-old began dating longtime family friend Fujikawa. Hudson first met the musician when she was 23 and pregnant with Ryder.

In April 2018, Hudson announced they were expecting their first child together, and they welcomed Rae later that year. The two announced their engagement in September 2021.

Hudson told the Times that the couple is in no rush to walk down the aisle.

“I hope we get married,” she said with a smile. “We are not in a hurry. The last thing I need right now is to prioritize the wedding, but I’m excited about it.

“Yesterday he was going through old footage of him and Rani on his phone and it just melted my heart. He is such a wonderful dad and stepdad.”
