Prince George is preparing to turn eight.
The young royal will celebrate the milestone on Thursday and her parents, Kate Middleton and Prince William, marked the occasion in their traditional way: by sharing a new photo of their son.
In the photo, George is smiling wearing a blue and orange striped collared shirt and blue shorts. He was seen sitting on the hood of the car for the shot.

The caption also revealed that like many photos of the royal children the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have shared recently, the photo was taken by none other than Middleton himself.
Many fans of the royal family took to the comments to wish the young prince the best as well as to remind him when he came into the world.
“I remember when he was born!!! My sister and I were so excited!!!” a follower wrote. “I can’t believe he’s already that old?! Maybe he’ll have another baby girl? We can only hope!!!”

“Man! How time flies,” Said another. “Happy Birthday in advance, Prince George, have fun!”
“Hey he’s so big and I love his huge smile for his mom,” wrote a third. “Happy birthday dear Prince George! I wish you a fun day and a wonderful year surrounded by your loved ones!! We all love you.”
added a third: “Happy Birthday Prince George! I still remember the day you were born, can’t believe how grown you are now.”
George will someday become King of the United Kingdom, succeeding his father William and grandfather Prince Charles.

It was reportedly not long ago that George was told he would someday fill the position.
According to royal biographer Robert Lacey, George was told “around” his seventh birthday that he would one day be crowned.
