Kehlani has spoken out after being sexually assaulted at a Manchester show

Kehlani recently spoke out after being sexually assaulted at a show in Manchester.

The Californian R&B artist recently wrapped up the European leg of her Blue Water Road Trip tour in support of her third album, Blue Water Road, which closed at the Victoria Warehouse in Manchester on Monday (December 12).

“I made video after video and deleted it because I don’t want a video where I’m angry, agitated, crying,” Kehlani wrote in a since-deleted Instagram story.

“I don’t care about my music, my performances, the fun I have with my friends dancing in the clubs, or how sexy you think ME is.

“That doesn’t give any of you the right to cross the line, like put your hands up my skirt, touch my underwear to my SEX, follow me through the crowd after a show. This idiot made me sick. As a victim of sexual assault, I am extremely agitated and crazy.

The singer has yet to comment further on the alleged incident.

In August of this year, Kehlani cut short a concert due to crowd safety concerns, telling the audience they “didn’t feel comfortable”.

The singer was performing at The Mann Center’s Skyline Stage in Philadelphia as part of her North American tour, which fans on TikTok said caused “too many fans to pass out in the crowd” suspended.

“I can’t do it, it’s not good,” said the singer. “I don’t feel comfortable. I do not feel well. I don’t feel safe with anyone right now.”

A review of Kehlani’s latest album, NME described “Blue Waterway” as “his most lyrical fun as he leaves behind the sad feelings of the past and embraces a bright new land.”
