Kristen Stewart fans have made it clear that they are not happy with Nicole Kidman’s Best Actress triumph at the Golden Globes.
Many 31-year-old filmmakers see biopic as a “favorite” to win with Spencer’s critically acclaimed performance.
Although the award program was not televised, fans were learning the winners in real time, however, one class was feathering some.
The official Golden Globes Twitter wrote: “The race between these leading ladies has been tight but Nicole Kidman goes for the role in # Golden Globe – Motion Picture – Drama Being the Ricardos for Best Actress.”
Nicole, 54, plays Lucille Ball in the film, which shows her relationship with her husband Desi Arnaz.
As fans quickly tweeted to the comments section to vent their anger: “What’s funny. I love Kidman, but it’s incomprehensible that literally anyone on the planet believes that Stewart’s performance is better than that of Spencer.”
Another fan said: “I love Nicole but she wasn’t a strong contender in this category this year. Kristen Stewart should have won it.”
An angry fan raged: “Nicole Kidman winning for Being the Ricardos is the biggest moment of the year!” Others admitted, “Kristen was robbed!”
The following commentators said: “Ridiculous casting, performance and win. So no one takes the Golden Globe seriously anymore.”
A reviewer added: “Nicole has won 5 times in the past. And I’m sure she’ll be nominated again in the future because she’s making a good job. We know she’s a favorite.
“But Kristen Stewart was grounded in Spencer. She was robbed here! I will never watch the Golden Globes again.”
Other nominees in the category include Lady Gaga for House of Gucci, Jessica Chastain for The Eyes of Tammy Faye, and Olivia Coleman for The Last Daughter.
The Twilight actress was praised for her performance as Princess Diana, as Spencer shows the marriage between the late Royal and Prince Charles.
