The post in question is a picture of Lionel Messi with the Copa America trophy titled:

The win was special for Messi as it was his first international trophy with Argentina, ending his 28-year wait for the Copa America crown.
Lionel Messi’s Instagram post currently has over 20 million likes and 515,000 comments. Cristiano Ronaldo set the previous record for the post of tribute to Argentine great Diego Maradona after the legend passed away in 2020.
Cristiano Ronaldo’s picture with Maradona got around 19.9 million likes. Lionel Messi’s own tribute post to his countryman has garnered around 16.5 likes.
With over 20 million likes, Lionel Messi’s post is currently the sixth most liked picture on Instagram. Apart from Barcelona star and Cristiano Ronaldo, no other athlete makes it to the top 20 list.

Following their valor on the international stage, both Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi are set to sign contract extensions with their respective clubs. Messi is set to be awarded a new long-term deal with Barcelona, while Cristiano Ronaldo will be offered a one-year extension by Juventus.
