Lizzo chose Beyonce over literature class.
During an incredibly moving speech after winning Record of the Year 2023 Grammy AwardsLizzo thanked a long list of famous artists, including Beyonce. This prompts him to share a story about skipping class years ago to see a fellow singer perform.
“I skipped school to see you perform. You changed my life,” Lizzo said.
Lizzo hit a home record Sunday night for her pop anthem “About Dem Time,” which appears on her 2022 album, special. Before stepping on stage, Lizzo hugged Adele who congratulated the singer on her success.
Lizzo began his speech by paying tribute to Prince for inspiring him to make music that makes people feel good. Lizzo began his career working with Prince in Minnesota.
