Because she loves him.
Lizzo nearly pulled a neck muscle while trying to find Beyoncé in the room at the 2023 Grammy Awards on Sunday night.
The evening’s host, Trevor Noah, was delivering his opening monologue at Lizzo’s table when he announced, “We’ve got Beyoncé in the room, guys!”
Lizzo, 34, then jumped up from her seat and looked around the room trying to find the “Break My Soul” artist, exclaiming, “Where?”
The rotating flutist’s jaw dropped in shock as he scanned Beyonce’s room, 41.
Fans took to Twitter to react to Lizzo’s blatant fangirling over Beyoncé.
“Lizzo we all are. Where’s Beyonce? #GRAMMYs,” one person said Tweeted
“Where’s Beyonce?” LIZZO So real LMAOOOO😭😭😭,” a second wrote
“Lizzo is Beyonce’s #1 fan. [for real]”You sir.” said.
“Lizzo flew 😂😂,” another laughed
Minutes later, the audience learned that Beyonce had not yet arrived at the event because she was stuck in traffic and running late. Queen B even missed out on a Grammy for Best R&B Song.
But Noah assured the crowd that she would soon grace them with her presence.
“Actually, Beyoncé is on her way. The benefit of hosting the Grammys in L.A. is that everyone can be here. The downside of hosting the Grammys in L.A. is the traffic,” he said.
An hour and a half into the show, Bey and her husband, Jay-Z, appeared at their respective tables before presenting Noah with his first Grammy of the night.
This year, Beyonce is nominated for nine Grammys and could break the record for most Grammy wins. Her husband Jay-Z will perform at the star-studded awards show.
Meanwhile, Lizzo is up for five nominations and is one of the performers of the evening. The “Juice” artist sat down with Adele as well as her boyfriend, Mike Wright. She and Wright walked the red carpet together earlier in the evening.

She looked stunning in a peach corset gown by Dolce & Gabbana layered under a matching floral cape. Meanwhile, Wright looked dapper in a tuxedo.
The loved-up couple showed PDA on the carpet and wrapped their arms around each other to snap the shutterbugs.
On Saturday night, Lizzo attended the Clive Davis Pre-Grammy Gala with her comedian boyfriend and shared several photos of them on her Instagram.
“Hard launch😮💨,” he captioned the post.
The two started dating in 2021, although they have known each other since 2016.
Lizzo was initially quiet about their relationship, but they made their Instagram debut last June after walking the red carpet together on her Amazon Prime Video reality series, “Lizzo’s Watch Out for the Big Girls.”
