Los Angeles officials responded to a robbery at the Nordstrom location in Canoga Park on Wednesday, resulting in the theft of expensive purses, according to reports.
The brazen robbery occurred around 7pm when people were engaged in their last minute shopping before Thanksgiving. An unknown object was sprayed on the face of security guards during the incident.
Fox 11 reported The incident reportedly occurred at Westfield Topanga and The Village at 7pm, according to a report by security personnel. Five suspects were reportedly leaving in a gray Ford Mustang.
The robbery sparked a major police response. ABC 7 Reported Eight valuable purses were stolen during the robbery. The suspect was wearing an orange wig, the report said.
Earlier this week, a group of thieves broke windows with sledgehammers and other equipment at the city’s luxury mall. Officers followed the SUV involved in the crime. Chase ended up in South Los Angeles and all three were taken into custody, Officer Drake Madison said.
Last weekend, about 90 people attacked Walnut Creek in California outside of San Francisco. Nordstrom Location. Officials say the group entered the store simultaneously using three separate entrances.

In response to the events, Nordstrom said it would increase its security measures, in a statement to Fox Business, adding, “Given the recent events in our two stores and industry-wide events, we are increasing the security presence in our store and implementing additional security measures to keep everyone safe.
