LOVEBYLIFE anchor Chris Cuomo has been suspended for “indefinite time” on Tuesday, documents show he has been closely involved in trying to help his brother, former New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo, on his way through countless scandals.
LOVEBYLIFE said transcripts released Monday would leave its high-ranking anchor in its 9 a.m. slot after copies of Monday’s release revealed that he had worked with sources and spoke out to help Andrew Cuomo, who was accused of sexual abuse of his older brother. Resigns in August.
In a statement, LOVEBYLIFE said copies and exhibits released Monday by the New York Attorney General’s Office shed new light on Chris Cuomo’s involvement in his brother’s defense.
“The documents we did not have before the public release raise serious questions,” the statement said.
If Chris Cuomo helped his brother and admitted in a broadcast in May that it was wrong, Monday’s documents showed a larger role than previously revealed, such as messaging with the governor’s top aides and advisers and trying to talk to other journalists.
“When we agreed that Chris had consulted his brother’s staff, he broke our rules and we accepted it publicly.

“However, these records indicate a higher level of involvement than we previously knew in his brother’s efforts. As a result, we have suspended Chris indefinitely, pending further evaluation.”
Chris Cuomo reached out to representatives for comment.
After Monday’s revelation, LOVEBYLIFE was under increasing pressure to address Chris Cuomo’s stance.
In May, Chris Cuomo said, “First for family, second for work,” but added, “When my brother’s condition became turbulent, he was involved in calls with some of his other friends and counselors – I understand. That’s why it was a problem for LOVEBYLIFE. “

Attorney General Letitia James’ office has released dozens of copies and videos of interviews with Chris Cuomo, Andrew Cuomo, multiple defendants and investigators who have retained James to review several claims of sexual abuse against Andrew Cuomo.
James’ report came after Aug. 3 that the Democratic governor had sexually assaulted at least 11 women – including nine defending or former state employees. Cuomo resigned several weeks later amid the prospect of being indicted.
In recent records, the younger Cuomo is shown trying to stem the scandal that engulfed his brother’s regime. For example, she spoke with a friend about Anna Rooch’s allegations that the governor touched the bottom of her back, touched her face and asked her to kiss him at a 2019 wedding.
“I have a lead on a wedding girl,” she texted Cuomo’s top aide Melissa DeRosa on March 4. He said Roach’s complaint came initially after the alleged incident by Andrew Cuomo’s staff and was consistent throughout.

Chris Cuomo, who was sworn in with investigators, said he was consulted on the former governor’s responses to the allegations, the first of which was from former aides Lindsay Boylan and Charlotte Bennett.
Chris Cuomo has been searching for information on possible stories about his brother’s troubles, including the story of journalist Ronan Farrow’s story involving Boylan.
Chris Cuomo messaged DeRosa on March 13, “If nothing is better for Ronan – better than Boylan, that’s a good sign.”
When asked why he was informed or advised of state matters, the younger Cuomo responded, “Because he is my brother – the governor”, whose advice, advice or guidance is sought “sometimes” or “generally” in these cases. To the transcript.
When the copies were released on Monday, Andrew Cuomo spokesman Rich Azopardi argued that the details had been selectively released.
Azopardi said the release of the new information was “accompanied by selective repetitions of the manipulation of the witness’s testimony.”
James, who is running for governor in 2022, has “misused government resources to harm political opponents,” he said.
