Apparently money can’t buy you a TV show.
“The Real Housewives of New York City: Legacy” is dead in the water for now, Luan DeLessips has confirmed.
After Page Six revealed that Bravo had axed the highly anticipated “RHONY” spinoff show starring several OGs, including de Lesseps, the former countess told PEOPLE on Tuesday that “negotiations on the series have stalled.”
“For the moment, it’s not going anywhere,” he added.
On Sunday, we reported that contract talks for the prized reality show version had stalled over salaries, with sources close to the talent telling us the network was cutting them, while production insiders said the women criticized the cast of “Friends” during their heyday for “what they should do.”
By Monday evening, Bravo had withdrawn its offers and pulled the plug on the project as everyone knew it.
But sources stressed to Us that the network “never says never,” noting that “RHONY: Legacy” could be revived in some form in the future.
De Lesseps is also convinced of this.
“I’ve always said, ‘Never count out the countess,’ but in this case, it’s, ‘Never count out the New York City housewives,'” the cabaret singer told PEOPLE, adding That Bravo’s decision doesn’t mean the show is over for good.”
The “Money Can’t Buy You Class” hitmaker, 57, went on to say that he has “no doubt” the network will “find a way to bring The OG and The Sweet Housewives of New York City back together.”
“It might not happen right away, but I have faith in Bravo and I believe they’re going to create something really great that fans will love in the near future.”
The Bravolebrity, who appeared on “RHONY” from seasons 1 to 13, admitted that “sometimes life needs a pause.”
Despite pulling the plug on “Legacy,” the network is still moving forward with a completely revamped “RHONY,” featuring an all-new, ethnically diverse set of women when Season 14 premieres. will be shown.
“They’re breathing new life into ‘RHONY’ right now,” DeLespes said of the updated program, calling Bravo “a genius at reinventing the wheel.”
