Man shoots bride’s dad, injures sister and mother before killing himself

A Massachusetts man shot and killed his wife’s father, wounded his sister and mother, then turned the gun on himself.

Police responded to Fall River early Wednesday morning after the shooter’s wife called to report that her husband, Christopher Jean Baptiste, 25, had shot and killed three family members and then Bristol County District Attorney Thomas . Quinn said WCVB.

The bride’s family moved into the young couple’s home several months ago while they were looking for somewhere else to live, officials said.

Jean Baptiste told her husband Tuesday that she wanted him to leave the family, the DA’s office said. A few hours later, with a gun in his hand, he told the family that they had to leave immediately.

What started as an argument over living arrangements turned deadly, officials said.

Jean Baptiste began to fight with the 69-year-old father of his bride, Hubert Labasquin, and at one point he was shot.

When the bride called 911, Jean Baptiste had already shot her mother and sister.
