Marcus Rashford Blasted for his “absolutely shocking” body language after performing low Manchester UnitedFA Cup win.
Ralph Rangnick’s men punched their ticket to the FA Cup fourth round for a clash with Middlesbrough in February, but United struggled to get a result on Monday night.
Scott McTominay led United in the opening 10 minutes at Old Trafford, but Aston Villa pushed the Red Devils to the end in a fiercely contested third round FA Cup tie.
The 24-year-old United star has not scored for his club since United’s 3-0 win over Tottenham last October.
Now, toxport pundit Mickey Gray has not pulled any punches towards Rashford and branded United’s second-half performance as “absolutely terrible”.
“I’m sorry, Marcus Rashford, waving your arms, but if you give the ball away, it’s only a matter of time before you get off the football field,” he said.
“This has happened several times this season.
“His body language is absolutely shocking at the moment, not just from him, but from these Manchester United players.
“His performance in this second half is absolutely terrible.”
United fans echoed Gray’s observation of Rashford’s body language on social media.
Get out of Rashford. He’s not there. Their body language tells you a story. #mfc

🔴 The famous saying … The picture paints a thousand words.
After the replacement, it was Marcus Rashford. Body language tells you everything!

Rashford’s body language irritates me, he thinks Top Reds are Marshall

I know some people regard Rashford as a blasphemy. We’ve known for a year or two that their body language is poor but you think they put a little more in light of recent criticism – but nothing. Playing like a madman. #MUFC

What happened to Rashford and Fernandes. Body language is not good. Well, he came up with a replacement. But if the expressions are nails, someone close to them will hit the wall. #Munavl #mfc pic.twitter.com/2XBdbjjh3v

If performances like Sಚೆnchez, De Maria, Pogba Rashford, they are murdered.
That Black’s body language is horrible.
He needs to be dropped indefinitely.

And Gray embarked on a dazzling rant about the lack of a United forward to challenge Emiliano Martinez on a loose ball.
“I can’t believe what I’ve seen now,” he said.
“We have just seen another replay of it. Marcus Rashford turns his body from an Aston Villa goal before Martinez picks up the ball.
“Well, maybe he was waiting for a pass from Mason Greenwood. He’s done brilliantly, but I don’t have it from the players. The goalkeeper turned your back before picking up the ball.”
Gray added: “[Rangnick] It needs to be changed. I am not a Manchester United manager but I see when someone is having a bad time.
“You can’t put it down to anything else unless he wants to run. You can have a bad first touch, you can have a really bad game, you can keep giving the ball but you have to show effort and try.
“He’s not running – that’s the worst I’ve seen. He’s horrible there. You don’t do that on a football pitch. Turn your back? Please…”
Rangnick defended Rashford and admitted that he was happy with his players’ efforts on the pitch and in training.
United will now travel to Villa Park on Saturday for a Premier League clash with their third-round FA Cup opponents.
