Mary M. Cosby will return to the role of a “friend” on “The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City,” multiple sources confirmed to Page Six on Wednesday.
A source clarified to Us that Cosby, 50, has not been cast as a full-time “Housewife,” but will instead film “some scenes” for the upcoming season — set to resume production on Feb. 13. Is.
“Mary wanted to come back,” the insider said.
However, another source explained that while Cosby had hoped to return to the franchise, he needed time to process the Jenny Nguyen racism controversy.
Nguyen, 44, was fired in January 2022 after just one season for a series of offensive social media posts mocking the Black Lives Matter movement and the 2020 protests.
“Mary was dealing with a lot of trauma after Season 2,” the insider told Us of Cosby, who notably skipped the Season 2 reunion before exiting the show entirely.
“Jenny’s racist posts really rattled Mary, especially when Jenny threw a glass at her on camera,” the source explained. “Mary was grateful to be away from the cameras, but seems ready to get back into the mix.”
When Cosby left “Salt Lake City” in February 2022, a source told Page Six that he “didn’t enjoy his time on the show and didn’t form strong relationships with the women.”
But a year later things have changed. Another insider teased that Cosby will return to the group as Meredith Marks’ friend since the jewelry designer is currently the only cast member in contact with the preacher.
“They’ve rekindled a connection over the past year,” the source noted, “and have been texting and talking more in recent months.”
Bravo did not immediately return Page Six’s request for comment.
Veteran stars Marcus, Heather Gay, Lisa Barlow and Whitney Rose have retained their ice pieces for Season 4.
Meanwhile, Jain Shah is out as he was sentenced to six-and-a-half years in prison for running a nationwide telemarketing scheme, mainly targeting the vulnerable elderly. The convicted fraudster is scheduled to begin her sentence at a federal prison in Texas on February 17.
News of Cosby’s return comes after Page Six revealed that the cast will get a big shakeup after the “dark” Season 3.
“They’re trying to bring in new women to lighten it up,” a source told Us on Jan. 20, adding that they’re still deciding whether Season 3’s “Friends” — including Angie Harrington , Angie Katsanavas and Dana Boi Negrete – “will be promoted or if they find new talent.”
Marks later told Page Six exclusively that he agreed he needed people’s help filling in the gaps of the “fragmented” cast.
Marks may be referring to when the current season — which ends Wednesday night — saw decades-long friends Marks, 51, and Barlow, 46, and Cousins, 49, become best friends after Rose. Took a turn, 36, couldn’t recover from his explosive falling out.
The season became even more intense when Gay woke up with a black eye after a girl’s night out and changed his storyline several times – leading fans to concoct several controversial theories – eventually Before admitting she blacked out and couldn’t remember how she got it. Intensely shiny.
