Megan Fox is opening up about the experience that inspired her to stop drinking.
In a video interview with Who What Wear published last Friday, the 35-year-old “Til Death” star recalled how drinking too much champagne at the 2009 Golden Globe Awards made her make regretful comments on the red carpet.
“I was sitting at a table with Blake Lively and the three Jonas Brothers,” she said. “At the Golden Globes, they always had those giant bottles of Mot (and Chandon) champagne on the table. I saw many glasses of her.”
As a result, Fox said she became “combatant” and “said (disrespectfully) I shouldn’t have said that on the red carpet.”
“I don’t drink anymore, and that’s why,” she said. “I got in a lot of trouble for everything I said on the red carpet at this event. I can’t remember why but I know I did. You can see it.”

“I’m on the verge of vomiting right now,” she continued. “I’m so terrified that I’m here and embarrassed and scared.”
When asked about his then-fiancé Brian Austin Green, Fox said he didn’t want to attend awards shows with her.

Fox filed for divorce from Green after 10 years of marriage in November 2020, days after she made her red carpet debut at the American Music Awards with boyfriend Machine Gun Kelly.
Fox cited “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for splitting from the “Beverly Hills, 90210” star, 48.
