Metallica teamed up with Vans for a series of new shoes to mark the 30th anniversary of the band’s self-titled 1991 LP, commonly known as ‘The Black Album’.
The collection includes two limited-edition designs of Vans’ Sk8-Hi and classic slip-on footwear, both featuring artwork designed by Metallica artist Pushhead, who provided imagery for the band’s merchandise and stage sets from 1986 is.
The artist’s ‘Sad But True’ design featuring a skull in the front weaves its way onto the Sk8-Hi’s quarter panels and opposing sides of each classic slip-on.
Styles also include a graphic blue shatter pattern, silver Metallica branding and the band’s name printed on the heel stays. You can check out the collection below and shop them this Sunday (July 25) starting at 5am.

The launch is the fourth collaboration between Vans and Metallica, with the most recent being in 2018.
Meanwhile, the band recently shared three new versions of their song “Where I May Rome” to mark the 30th anniversary of “The Black Album”.
They followed the recent covers of the likes of St. Vincent, Sam Fender, Biffy Clyro, Diet Cig and Miley Cyrus.
Remastered for ultimate sound quality, the re-issued 180-gram double vinyl LP will be available in several configurations including standard CD and 3CD extended edition, digital and limited-edition deluxe boxsets.
The boxset will contain the remastered album on a 180-gram 2LP, one picture disc, three live LPs, 14 CDs (containing rough mixes, demos, interviews, live shows), six DVDs (outtakes, behind-the-scenes, official videos, live). show), a 120-page hardcover book, four tour laminates, three lithos, three guitar picks, a Metallica lanyard, a folder with song sheets, and a download card.
