Mets pitcher Max Scherzer is buying a lavish $5.4 million Long Island home

Max Scherzer is hitting it out of the park with this newly purchased Long Island home.

With five bedrooms and six bathrooms, Scherzer bought the Brookville property for just under its asking price, sources told The Post.

While the sale is currently pending, it is expected to close soon — for $5.2 million to $5.3 million, the insider said, with Scherzer and his wife Erica moving out by 2023.

The Hamptons-inspired residence was last listed for $5.4 million.

The move comes after Scherzer, 38, agreed to a three-year, $130 million contract with the New York Mets on Nov. 29 — one of the oldest players to reach a $100 million-plus deal.

The home is listed as being under contract on October 24th.

The residence is located in Brookville, New York.

Set on approximately 4 acres, it features expansive terraces, landscaped gardens with water features, a saltwater pool with Jacuzzi, outdoor showers and a separate pool house.

The main house features millwork and moldings, white oak flooring, a formal living room, plus an open dining and entertainment room. There is also a media room, an office, two master suites, a game room and a kitchen with Wolf and Gaggeneau appliances, the listing says.

In 2020, Scherzer and his wife bought an extravagant property in Jupiter, Florida for $9.75 million.

With five bedrooms and nine bathrooms, the waterfront home spans more than 7,770 square feet.
