Mila Kunis trolled husband Ashton Kutcher and his “Your Place or Mine” co-star Reese Witherspoon for their awkward red carpet poses at the premiere of their new Netflix movie.
“[Mila] Even emailed us last night. She goes, ‘You guys look so weird on the red carpet together,’ Witherspoon revealed during her guest appearance on “Today With Hoda & Jenna” on Monday.
Photos from the Los Angeles premiere show Witherspoon, 46, and Kutcher, 45, keeping an obvious – and very awkward – distance from each other as they pose for photographers.
Instead of wrapping their arms around each other, they also kept their hands to themselves.
Witherspoon said she laughed off the playful jab, calling the banter “just fun.”
The “Morning Show” actress also noted that she knew Kanis, 39, long before she and Kutcher met.
“I’m better friends with Mila because I’ve known her for a long time,” Witherspoon explained. “Meeting his significant other was just fun because I’ve been in love with him for so long.”
And Witherspoon clarified that while their red carpet photos may have come off as “awkward,” there was nothing awkward on set with Kutcher when they got to play each other’s on-screen love interests.
“He’s very professional,” Witherspoon said of Kutcher. “He’s the funniest guy. I mean, such a goofball. We had so much fun and every time he wore something funny, I’d text Mila, like, ‘What’s he wearing?’
Witherspoon also revealed how excited she is to star in her first Netflix movie.
“I try to see what the audience is doing and moms with two kids or elderly parents they’re looking after, that’s my audience.” “I want to go where they are. I don’t want to expect them to come to me.
He also shared what viewers can expect from his upcoming romantic comedy.
“The movie is really a love letter to single moms,” Witherspoon said. “It’s about second chances and hope and optimism.”
Weatherspoon is a mother of three children. She shares daughter Ava, 23, and son Deacon, 19, with ex-husband Ryan Phillippe. She also shares a son, 10-year-old Tennessee, with husband Jim Toth.
Meanwhile, Kutcher and Kunis, who married in 2015, share two children: 8-year-old daughter Wyatt and 6-year-old son Dimitri.
As Page Six previously reported, Kutcher admitted earlier this month that he deliberately stood far away from Witherspoon on the red carpet to avoid rumors of an affair.
“Here’s the thing: If I put my arm around her and be all friendly with her, I’m going to have an affair with her,” the actor said on the “Chicks in the Office” podcast.
“If I’m standing next to him and I put my hands in my pockets, there’s no way it could be a rumor, a rumor that we don’t like each other.”
“Your Place or Mine” drops Friday on Netflix.
