He brought out the garbage panda.
A brave Connecticut woman is being recognized as the internet’s “mother of the year” after she heroically saved her daughter from a vicious raccoon that latched onto her leg. A video of his act has been collected 16.6 million views on Twitter as users praised his bravery in front of the monster.
“I heard her screaming and ran to see what was going on. I thought maybe he hit his hand on the door, I didn’t expect to see a raccoon attacking him,” Logan Kelsey McNamara told Storyful of the “indiscriminate” attack last week in the family’s hometown of Ashford. “If I didn’t have the video, I wouldn’t be able to tell you exactly what happened, it happened so fast.”
He announced Video to Facebook at the request of his daughter.
The nail-biting clip, captured by a surveillance camera, begins with McNamara standing on her 5-year-old daughter Ryle’s porch getting ready to catch the school bus. Suddenly, a huge raccoon appears and starts attacking one of his legs, causing him to scream in terror.
“I was going to get on the bus and there was a raccoon and it tried to attack me,” said little Ryle, recalling the terrifying incident. WFSB local outlet. “He didn’t want to get off my feet.”
In the clip, a screaming girl tries to kick away the vicious predator that is clinging to her pants.
As her daughter cries, McNamara runs out of the house and pulls the garbage panda from her child’s leg.

“Come in, come in the house,” the mother calls, holding her daughter in one arm and Ranger Rick in the other, hanging from her neck.
Riley obeys his mother’s command, after which the snarling animal lashes out and tears off McNamara’s arm.
At that point, the brave girl warns the audience to stay away because she believes the raccoon is “rabid.”
After a brief scuffle, the no-nonsense raccoon wrestler manages to hurl Rocky into his backyard like a fur disc, after which the dazed animal flees the scene.

McNamara said Ryle suffered multiple puncture wounds and although both had scratches, they were in good condition after the attack. She attributes the lack of injuries to the fact that her daughter was wearing jeans instead of her usual leggings, Storyful reports.
Meanwhile, animal control services combed the woods for the culprit on Friday, but he was nowhere to be found.
So, it’s still unknown if the raccoon has hydrophobia, but the couple went to the hospital and got a few rabies shots as a precaution. They should come back every other day for the next two weeks.

Needless to say, social media fans were quick to praise McNamara for her bold move with one Twitter viewer. “Mother of the Year”.
“This mom is amazing” shocked one fanwhile another wrote“A mother’s protective power is no joke.”
One fan snapped a close-up of McNamara holding the raccoon itchy neck of his neck with the caption: “To the raccoon’s face when he realized he was going to find out.”
Even wildlife experts praised McNamara’s actions. Geoff Krukar, Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Conservation Wildlife Biologist, told FOX 61 The raccoon clearly looked sick and the mother did the right thing to protect her family.
“The mother behaved very heroically,” he said. “I think he did everything, everything right. Avoid being bitten, warn the neighbor to stay behind and take the child to safety.

Despite the waves of praise, McNamara said she was “scared more than anything”. In the future, she says she won’t let her kids out without an adult.
This is not the first time a woman has saved the day in anger. In June, a steely-eyed Alaskan woman came to the aid of New York revelers after she heroically “jumped” a fellow opossum out of a bar in Brooklyn.
