The NBA regular season is coming to a close, but there is still plenty of DFS action to be had. Here are some Yahoo DFS picks and strategies to consider for May 10th.
Point Guard: Russell Westbrook ($58) – Westbrook has been on fire lately, averaging a triple-double over his last 10 games. He faces the Atlanta Hawks, who rank 25th in the league in defensive efficiency against point guards.
Shooting Guard: Gary Trent Jr. ($19) – Trent has been a reliable scorer for the Toronto Raptors since being traded from Portland. He has scored 20 or more points in three of his last four games and faces the Los Angeles Clippers, who may rest some of their key players with their playoff spot secured.
Small Forward: Alec Burks ($14) – With the New York Knicks dealing with some injuries, Burks has stepped up and provided some much-needed scoring off the bench. He faces the Memphis Grizzlies, who rank 24th in the league in defensive efficiency against small forwards.
Power Forward: Jerami Grant ($32) – Grant has been a bright spot in an otherwise disappointing season for the Detroit Pistons. He faces the Minnesota Timberwolves, who rank 27th in the league in defensive efficiency against power forwards.
Center: Nikola Jokic ($58) – Jokic is the clear frontrunner for the MVP award this season, and for good reason. He has been dominant on both ends of the floor and faces the Charlotte Hornets, who rank 22nd in the league in defensive efficiency against centers.
Strategy: With the regular season coming to a close, some teams may rest their key players as they prepare for the playoffs. Keep an eye on injury reports and news leading up to tip-off and adjust your lineup accordingly. Look for value plays like Trent and Burks to help you fit in some of the higher-priced stars like Westbrook and Jokic. And as always, stay up to date on any last-minute lineup changes and adjust accordingly.
