NeNe Leakes Shades Current Bravo Talent By Calling “Real Housewives” Franchise “Starless”
“These girls on these shows, they’re not just stars,” the “Real Housewives of Atlanta” alum said on Tuesday’s episode of “The Breakfast Club.” “If you really look at it, all the stars that were on any of those franchises, they’re gone and what’s left is star-free.”
Lex’s comments were in response to “Real Housewives of Potomac” star Robyn Dixon claiming she knew her husband, Joanne, was allegedly having an affair.
“Oh, dear! Yes to a starless Robin Dixon baby,” said Lex, “Starless honey, mmmmm.”
When one of the show’s co-hosts, Charlamagne tha God, pointed out that the Potomac franchise received “high ratings,” Leakes wasn’t convinced.
“Oh, does it? When was the last time you looked at those ratings?” He jerked.
Leakes, 55, then admitted that she doesn’t watch the show but she does watch some clips that end up on social media.
“I’m not really a TV watcher. I don’t watch TV at all,” she claimed.
The radio host contradicted Leakes, saying that Dixon and his “Reasonably Shady” co-host Gizelle Bryant were in fact the stars. His podcast is produced exclusively by iHeartRadio, which is also the parent company of Power 105.1 FM, where “The Breakfast Club” airs.
“They’re not famous,” Lex said of the two Bravolebrities. “They might know … the difference between famous and well-known. And so, I don’t know about famous but maybe they’re famous for a minute.
And when asked about her former “RHOA” co-star Kandi Bruce, Lex admitted, “I’ll give it to Kandi, yeah, but everybody else … I don’t see it. I They seem to know.”
Moving on, Lex also said that she didn’t even know who was on “The Real Housewives of New York City” and pointed out that the show is going through some serious drama.
As for “RHONY” star Ebony K. Williams, Lex said, “I don’t even know her. Is she famous or popular?”
When Charlamagne points out that fame is subjective, Lex finally gives up.
“I think so, honey. I think so, baby. Anyway, since Envy and Charlemagne say Robin is famous, I take it back, Robin. Famous Robin Dixon and Joan Dixon—sorry, my mistake,” she said. said
Williams — who was only a part of “RHONY” for one season — appeared on “The Breakfast Club” the next day to respond to Lex’s comments about her.
“I’m not sure what she meant when she came on this beloved program and said ‘I don’t know her’. It’s not true. It’s just a lie,” he said.
However, Williams, 39, agreed with Leakes on the broader point of “famous vs. being famous,” adding that there are “housewives” who are famous just for being a part of the franchise and calling them “Bravoliberties.” goes
Lex was part of the original cast that launched the Atlanta franchise in 2008. He took a break from the show during seasons 8 and 9, only to return in seasons 10–12. He then left the show in 2020.
She then sued Andy Cohen, Bravo, and the network’s parent company, NBC Universal, for discrimination, claiming that “housewives” endured a hostile and racist work environment.
Leakes alleged that he was “blacklisted” from pursuing other jobs in the entertainment space after making the allegations. He eventually dropped the case in August 2022.
