On July 15, Season 2 never have I ever Premiered on Netflix. new season of never have I ever It consists of 10 episodes, and the fourth episode is titled “… there was an Indian frenzy.” In the episode, a new student named Anissa (Megan Suri) transfers to Devi’s (Maitreyi Ramakrishnan) school, and Devi struggles to accept Anissa as a friend.

Anissa transfers to Devi’s school in ‘Never Have I Ever’
After betraying Ben (Jaren Levison) and Paxton (Darren Barnett), Devi spends time with Paxton to sort things out. By the fourth episode of the second season, Paxton and Devi are on good terms and friends again. Devi tries to fix things with Ben, but he makes it clear that she’s still mad at him.
In history class, Mr. Shapiro (Adam Shapiro) introduces Anissa to the class. Devi immediately fears that Anissa is also an Indian. Making matters worse, Devi’s classmates start calling Anissa “Devi 2.0”.
Since Devi and Anissa have the same schedule, Devi is tasked with showing Anissa around the school. While Anissa is kind, the goddess remains cold towards Anissa due to her jealousy towards Anissa’s immediate popularity.

Devi invites Anissa to sleep
After complaining about Anissa to her mother Nalini (Poorna Jagannathan), Nalini insists that Devi and Anissa “should be best friends.” The goddess reluctantly invites Anissa to sleep in what was originally supposed to be just the goddess and Eleanor (Ramona Young).
Nalini immediately falls in love with Anissa, and later that night Eleanor and Anissa also hit her. Devi feels the need to prove herself, and she suggests that they sneak out to meet Eleanor’s crush Malcolm (Tyler Alvarez). To the dismay of Devi, Malcolm invites Ben to hang out as well.
The group decides to go to a tattoo parlor so that Malcolm can get a tattoo to shake up the image of his child artist. Anissa suggests that the goddess would look great with a nose ring. Ben tells Devi that if he finds a nose ring, he will get a tattoo done.
Devi goes through it, but Ben later reveals that he only got a temporary tattoo to trick Goddess. He tells how hurt he is that Devi betrayed him, and Devi suggests that they may still be.
“We’re not even close,” Ben tells her. “Goddess, you followed her. You followed her at the party and you left me behind! We’re not friends, so stop pretending we are.”

Devi warms to Anissa in ‘Never Have I Ever’
Because she is so distracted by Ben, Devi forgets to remove her nose ring and her mother finds out. To help the goddess, Anissa states that it was secretly her idea to get a nose ring, and suggests the nose ring to the goddess as a “symbol of Indian femininity”.
Nalini accepts that the nose ring looks good on Devi, and Devi realizes that Anissa might actually be a good person as a friend. That is, until she sees Ben and Anissa talking in the hallway and gets jealous again.
