In the pictures, Ed performed his casual look wearing scruffy jeans and a gray hoodie as he played and played his guitar.
Nigel told The Sun: ‘I’m sure it could go all the way that day.
‘It’s amazing to think that the world’s biggest music star played small gigs in our garden.

Earlier this week, the pair posed for a festive snap together after Ed teased his upcoming Christmas single with Elton John.

Elton looked festive in a dark green printed tracksuit paired with a bright red scarf.
The couple posed near the fireplace decorated with Christmas decorations while several gifts were placed in the corner.

Ed captioned Snap: ‘Coming soon,’ Elton commented: ‘Feeling festive’.
Ed previously revealed that he and Elton were so close, the musician would call him every day and provide a shoulder to cry on when his friend died.
The singer discusses a Christmas song he and Elton recorded together that they will release later this year.
Speaking to The Sun, Ed recounted how the legendary performer helped mourn his friend, Australian music promoter Michael Goodinsky, who died in March at the age of 68.
Ed said: ‘I tell people this and they think I’m lying or exaggerating, but Elton calls me every day.
‘They would ring me once a month – well, we’ll do it on Facetime via iPad because we don’t have a phone. Then it became weekly when Lyra was born – he too was a father and he would check in.
But when Michael died he called me the next day and I broke down and cried. And from that day – I spoke to him this morning, yesterday – no lies, he was chasing me every day. He always checks on me for a half hour or two. ‘
Ed said he had never heard a bad word about Elton and described him as a ‘beautiful soul’.
The singer said he thinks the Christmas song he and Elton recorded will go to number one during the festival.
The song was originally planned for Christmas 2022 but after Michael’s death, Ed decided to move the date forward.
The star said the pair filmed the video for the single while Elton was Santa.
