New video shows mystery person running near scene of NJ Councilwoman Eunice Dwumfour’s murder


Shocking, new surveillance video has emerged showing a man fleeing the scene where New Jersey Councilwoman Eunice Domfor was shot and killed in her SUV last week.

Short clip Obtained by News 12 New Jersey The footage was recorded around 7pm on February 1 – the time Domfor was killed – and shows a man dressed in black walking around the frame.

That reportedly matched witness accounts that the shooter fled toward the Garden State Parkway near Camelot at the La Mer apartment complex in Sayreville, where the victim was found slumped behind the wheel of his white Nissan.

According to News 12, the suspect was also able to run down an embankment on nearby Erneston Road, where authorities have put up digital signs asking the public for help.

The quality of the footage is poor and it is difficult to tell the details of the person seen running away.

No accused has been named in the case.

On Tuesday, Yunus’ father, Prince Domfor, expressed frustration at the lack of information about the investigation.

“So far, we haven’t heard anything yet,” he told The Post when asked if the police had provided any updates on the case.

Sayreville police and the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office have not released any information to the public about where the investigation stands.

A spokesperson for the prosecutor’s office told The Post only that there are “no updates to report at this time” because “the matter is still under investigation.”

Authorities have not publicly speculated on a motive for killing Domfor, a 30-year-old Republican who was elected in November 2021 after upsetting an incumbent Democrat.

Police are asking residents for surveillance camera video taken between 6:30 p.m. and 8 p.m. on Feb. 1 at the Camelot of La Mer complex.

Investigators have told The Post that a video camera captured Domfor talking to the shooter shortly before his death.
