New York City police are looking for a man who fatally stabbed another passenger while sleeping on a subway early Sunday morning.

The suspect, who was captured on surveillance footage covered in blood of the victim, was shot dead at the scene before fleeing the scene. 2 The 32-year-old Straffinger was stabbed in the neck of the train. The victim was lying or lying on one of the subway seats.

The deadly event comes as New York City is experiencing a surge of crimes, particularly in the subway system.

From the week of Nov. 8 through Nov. 14, transit crimes skyrocketed 140 percent from 2020 the same week. In the last 28 days, 186 crimes have been reported.

According to the NYPD’s latest monthly numbers, overall crime has increased by 11.2 percent over the past month compared to October 2020. Robbery increased by 15.8 percent and crime by 13.8 percent.

According to police, the stabbing on Sunday’s subway occurred around 12.17pm. No. The 2 train entered Manhattan’s Penn Station on East 34th Street.

The 32-year-old victim was assaulted while going on a train.

Paramedics transported him to Bellevue Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Their identity is pending a family notification.

A preliminary investigation revealed the victim did not know or provoke the suspect.

The New York City Police Department has released photos of the wanted man now. It was last seen fleeing the station in a white baseball cap, black mask, gray jacket, white shirt with orange and black checkered hood, black pants and black boots.

Police described the man as approximately 5’9 “tall, weighing 185 pounds and with a modest physique.

The attack came after a man was hospitalized Saturday after being cut across the face at a subway station.

The victim was traveling south on a train in Greenwich Village.

The train was stopped at the Washington Square Station – West 4th Street in Manhattan.

It is not clear what caused the incident but it was cut across the person’s face. The accused has not yet been identified.

Police are searching for the attackers and there is no word on the condition of the person.

The escalation of overall illegality comes as the city grapples with an increase in visible, violent crime, including the horrific subway and street attacks that have terrified New Yorkers.

The horrific incident took place in Lower Manhattan around 5:30 am inside Chambers Street station, where a 45-year-old man was shot in the arm. Strangers pushed out of the 1 train platform and on the subway rails.

The stunned victim was able to drag himself back to the subway platform before any trains approached.

Minor injuries, including minor injuries, were treated on the spot, officials said.

Meanwhile, gun violence in the borough has increased significantly, with 28 percent more shootings reported this year compared to last year, according to police data.

Lame-Duck Mayor de Blasio blamed the courts for New York City’s skyrocketing crime numbers this month because they proposed a small reduction in the murder rate by ignoring an 11 percent jump in the overall crime of October 2020.
