Noah Syndergaard wants to hit Carlos Correa for Derek Jeter’s dig

Upon learning of Carlos Correa’s comments on his Gold Glove Awards, Derek Jeter believed the response would not be justified.

On the other hand, New Angels pitcher and ex-Met Noah Syndergaard has one in mind.

Korea, one of the top free-agent shortstops on the market right now, has recently claimed that Jeter is not eligible for the five Gold Glove awards he has won throughout his career. Korea, 27, recently won the first Gold Glove and Platinum Glove of his career (awarded to the best defensive player, regardless of position in each league).

When asked from the MLB network Syndergaard suggested Korea what player he would like to hit with his new team.

“Not just for obvious reasons,” Syndergaard said, “but he said that Derek Jeter is not worthy of his gold gloves. I think it’s a little ridiculous to say that.

“For obvious reason,” Syndergaard said, referring to Korea’s involvement in the Astros’ sign-stealing scandal during their 2017 World Series championship race. The Astros eliminated the Yankees in the ALCS that year.

Jeter, who is now part-owner of the Marlins, took the high road in the middle of the infield for his potential.

“I didn’t think much of it,” Jeter told reporters at a recent Marlins team event. “I don’t know how my name came up. My Spanish is not so good. I haven’t seen it yet. I don’t know how my name was raised, but that doesn’t even justify the reaction. I could go in different directions, but I wouldn’t.

Instead of accepting a $ 18.4 million qualifying offer from the Mets, Syndergaard recently signed a one-year, $ 21 million deal with the Angels. He was joined by another ex-Met, Aaron Loop, who signed a two-year deal worth $ 17 million with Hallows.

Korea may turn out to be an option for the shortstop-needing Yankees, and GM Brian Cashman recently said that Korea’s cheating past does not prevent the Bombers from signing. He now has another strike against him in The Bronx, however, with his remarks by The Captain.
