Samuel Brinton, the non-binary official in the Biden administration who was accused of multiple thefts at two separate airports, is no longer with the Department of Energy, according to reports.
A DOE spokesman said Monday that Brinton is “no longer an employee of DOE.” The DOE also told Fox, “This was not a Biden official.”
It was not immediately clear whether Brinton resigned or was fired.

“By law, the Department of Energy cannot comment further on personnel matters,” a DOE spokesperson said.
DOE has been contacted for further comment.

Brinton, who has served as the DOE’s deputy assistant secretary for spent fuel and waste disposal since June, faces up to 10 years for stealing a suitcase in Minnesota and another bag in Nevada, according to a police report. shall be sentenced to imprisonment.
Brinton allegedly stole a suitcase worth $3,670 at Harry Reid International Airport in Las Vegas on July 6. Police also accused Brinton of stealing another suitcase valued at $2,325 from a baggage carousel at Minneapolis-St. Paul Airport (MSP) in September.
According to the revelations, Brinton has been placed on leave from the DOE.
As a non-binary gender-fluid person, Brinton made headlines after being appointed to oversee nuclear waste policy at the DOE’s Office of Nuclear Energy. Brinton is also reported to be a member of the drag queen group The Sisters of Persistent Indulgence.
