Ontario reports 185 new COVID-19 — the most in 2 weeks


Ontario reported 185 new cases of COVID-19 on Thursday, the most in one day in two weeks.

Today’s case count is also up slightly from last Thursday, when the province recorded 143 more infections.

Here are some other key epidemic indicators and figures from the Ministry of Health’s daily provincial updates:

Seven day average of daily cases: 155, yesterday above 150

Provincial test positivity rate: 0.9 percent

active case: 1,363

patients in ICU With diseases related to COVID: 141; 84 needed ventilators to breathe, 14 more than the previous day

deaths: Seven, raising the official toll to 9,265

vaccination: 125,166; Roughly 70 percent of Ontario’s total population have now received at least one dose of the vaccine, while 64 percent of people 12 years of age and older have received both shots.
