About 2,400 pounds of Oscar Mayer ham and cheese buns are being recalled possible cross-contamination with less processed productsAccording to the Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service.
The company’s finished product was manufactured on October 10 and shipped to distribution centers in Ohio and Virginia, where it was later distributed to retailers.
The problem first came to light when the facility notified FSIS that the product had been cut using the same equipment as the less processed product.
The equipment was not cleaned between products, which led to cross-contamination.
“There have been no confirmed reports of adverse reactions resulting from consumption of these products. Anyone concerned about injury or illness should contact their healthcare provider,” FSIS said in a statement.
People who buy these products are urged not to consume them. Products must be discarded or returned to the place of purchase.
Packets of ham and cheese bread have the codes on the label from “07 February 2023 20:40 7B” to “07 February 2023 22:16 7B”.
