A player with the NFL’s Philadelphia Eagles has been indicted on rape charges in Ohio, according to an indictment announced Wednesday by the Ohio Attorney General’s Office.
A grand jury indicted 25-year-old Josh Sills, accusing him of raping and holding a woman against her will in Guernsey County on Dec. 5, 2019.
The indictment states that he faces serious charges of rape and kidnapping.
It’s unclear if Sales has retained an attorney. The Ohio Attorney General’s Office has been contacted for more information.
The Eagles have been reached for comment. The Eagles will face the Kansas City Chiefs in the Super Bowl and it is not yet known if Seals will appear on the team’s roster for the Feb. 12 game.
The Ohio AG’s office said the alleged 2019 rape was promptly reported and subsequently investigated by the Guernsey County Sheriff’s Office.
Sales, an offensive lineman currently in his rookie season, was signed by the Eagles as an undrafted free agent in 2022.
He has been issued a summons to appear in an Ohio court on February 16, court documents said.
