The report said Food Network star Ri Drummond’s nephew was charged with DWI three months after a car crash near a family farm in Oklahoma.
Caleb Drummond said on April 17 in Osage County that police found him asleep in his car with a gun and alcohol in an open container. TMZ reported.
Prosecutors have charged Caleb with driving with a disability and driving with an open container, TMZ reports.
Police said he fell asleep in his car, which smelled of alcohol, and had ammunition and a 9mm gun. Caleb was left in a critical condition after he struggled with a fire that broke out after he collided with Uncle Ladd Drummond.
Caleb, 21, suffered injuries to his leg and arm, as well as internal bleeding and was admitted to Tulsa Hospital, while Ladd, 57, refused medical attention but had a broken neck.
“I know I shouldn’t have driven,” Caleb said after the crash, TMZ said. “I’m glad I wasn’t caught a few hours ago.”
After the clash, the “Pioneer Woman” host said on Facebook that the two were in the hospital but “both will be fine” and thanked fans for their “love and kindness.” A month later, he he said was “healing” her husband and nephew.
“She is OK. He has recovered almost everything and is back to normal, ”said Todd, Ree and Ladd’s 17-year-old son.
Now things are getting better for the family.
Drummond, 52, in May he whispered about the wedding of his daughter Alex.
