There seems to be no love lost between this stepson and his supposedly evil stepmother. Prince Harry is holding nothing back from blasting Camilla, the Queen’s consort.Â
During an interview with Anderson Cooper on 60 Minutes Sunday night while promoting his sensational memoir, The Spare, Harry Camilla, 38, said he needed to rebuild his image. “The villain in the British press made him a ‘danger’,” he said, “because of the connections he made in the British press.”
“Both sides wanted to exchange information. A family built on a hierarchy, and with it, people or corpses would be left on the street on their way to becoming queen.”
Harry felt like one of those “bodies,” he told Cooper, 55, on “60 Minutes.” He also wrote in his book: “Camilla sacrificed me on the altar of personal PR.”
Harry has previously spoken out about his family throwing him and Meghan Markle under the bus to make them appear better in the public eye. In their Netflix documentary ‘Harry and Meghan’, Harry’s father Charles and brother William spilled stories about the couple to the media, as well as dealing with ‘trade’ stories. (As he explained, one member of the royal family would invite another member to the press to try to erase negative stories about them).
According to Harry, he and William swore never to engage in such ‘trading’ practices, but William broke that promise.” To see my brother’s office repeats something we both promised we would never do. It was heartbreaking,” Harry said in the documentary.Â
Now he says Camilla left him as a “corpse on the street” because she needed to give herself a good image rather than being “another woman” in King Charles and Princess Diana’s marriage. .Â
Charles and Camilla finally married in 2005, after Camilla and Charles’ public outcry led to Charles and Diana’s divorce. Prince Harry wasn’t happy either, he writes about food in his book, and neither is Prince William.
Meanwhile, 60 Minutes host Cooper revealed to Harry why both brothers told their father not to marry Camilla. “We didn’t think it was necessary,” he said. “We thought it would do more harm than good. And if she is with her man now – that’s enough. Why don’t you have to go that far?”
