Rangers’ Sammy Blaze was injured by a strange blow to PK Subbanna

Sammy Blaise departed early in the third period after a 4-3 shootout win over the Devils after Devils defenseman PK Subban made a strange contact with the Rangers winger in the corner of New Jersey.

With no weight and obvious pain on his right leg, Blaise was helped out of the locker room, as Rangers fans already began chanting “Subban sucks”, beating Subbanna all night. Subbanna has already been fined twice for tripping this season.

Blaze finished the game with four hits in 11:05.

Gerard Gallant did not have an immediate update on the Blaze, but Rangers head coach Subban was not thrilled with his game.

“Like a lot [Ryan] “The one I saw was Reeves,” he said, referring to the pre-season game against New Jersey, where Subban pulled Reeves’ right skate down from under him and caused his left knee to buckle awkwardly.

PK Subbanna’s controversial hit led Sammy Blaze to quit the game.

Known as “The Bull” by his teammates, Blaise has been skating on the right side of the Rangers top line for the past few games with Mika Zibanejad and Chris Krider. After coming to New York on a Rangers trade with the Blues that sent Pavel Buchnevich to St. Louis, Blaise has brought a little spark to the team with his grinding style.

Gallant went with Alexander Georgiev on Net Sunday at Madison Square Garden, though Igor Shusterkin was available to play after a terrifying departure in the third period of the Rangers’ win in Columbus on Saturday.

“He’s not playing, but he’s great,” said of coach Shusterkin, who was fired and underwent concussion protocol after he was run over by Blue Jackets fourth lineman Alexandre Texier.

Georgiev turned 24 of the 27 shots he faced in the fourth start of the season and the first since November 5 in Edmonton. The Bulgarian-born netminder found himself starting against the Devils on Saturday night, blocking players like Dawson Mercer, Tomas Tatar and Pavel Zacha in the shootout.

“[It helped] A little, “Jarjeev said when asked if the win had improved his confidence.” It was big to get the win in a big way. The boys were very clutch in the shootout and in the game. They played like that [well]. It’s nice to be rewarded. ”

After encountering ghosts, the Rangers have a holiday on Monday before welcoming Canadians to the garden on Tuesday. The Rangers are scheduled to play six games over the next nine days, including Saturday’s game in Columbus – including another trip to Canada to face the Maple Leafs and Senators before playing the Sabers at home on Nov. 21.

Philippe Chaitel suffered a body-injury injury against the Flames on Nov. 6 so that he could get out of injured reserve whenever he was ready.

“Phil is doing real good,” Gallant said before the game. “He skated again [Sunday]. He’s not playing [Sunday], But he skated from 45 minutes to an hour.
