William Regal is a true veteran of the world of professional wrestling, having competed all over the world before making his way to WWE. He was the creative mind behind NXT and helped develop the brand before Vince McMahon took office. Looks like Renee Paquette has recently opened up about her WWE release.
The company has decided to release several talents and staff members following last year’s NXT New Year’s Evil. This included names such as William Regal, which came as a shock to many.
While speaking Busted Open Radio, Renee Paquette spoke of the sacking of William Regal from the WWE. Paquette says it killed her and she couldn’t understand why WWE would dismiss a man like William Regal.
“I can’t get over the fact that William Regal was left out of the WWE. It kills me. I can’t wrap my head around the thought process that William Regal is not part of any wrestling campaign.
When you think of the respect that comes from William Regal, you think of history and knowledge. All the things that put William Regal on the wrestler, as a mentor, on the creative side, even putting him in the GM position.
He brings so much to the table. You keep hearing about these releases and you see different names pop up. Samoa Joe means ‘what’s going on here?’
It’s upsetting, it’s really upsetting and it irritates me. I know William Regal will be happy somewhere and be able to put his services to good use somewhere and I can’t wait to see what it is.
Maybe he doesn’t, maybe he just wants to hang out. I don’t know what William Regal does, but anyone who is one of the cornerstones of NXT – perhaps as part of what happened here – is looking at NXT as we continue on NXT 2.0. ”
WWE talents have been said to be depressed after the release of William Regal. William Regal’s contributions to the WWE and especially to NXT cannot be underestimated in any way. You have to wait and see what Regal does.
