“Real Housewives of Orange County” alum Gretchen Rossi is mourning the “unbearable” loss of her stepson Grayson Alexander, who died Sunday at age 22.
The former reality TV star, 44, took to Instagram on Tuesday to reveal the heartbreaking news following her long battle with brain cancer.
“Our rational minds told us this day might come, but our hearts always held on to the hope that this day wouldn’t come 💔,” she began her post, courtesy of Grayson’s father, Slade Smiley. It included pictures. 49.
“We are devastated and heartbroken over the loss of Gray. 😔 Grayson Arroyo-Smiley was such a special person. He was an angel on this earth and an incredible fighter… a fighter like no one has seen before. Joy in the little things. He fought through his pain and suffering every day to achieve. He always sang and danced and laughed despite his circumstances.
He described her as “a true ray of light and hope”, noting that “she had an incredible impact on so many people.”
The mother of one continued, “The Lord knew he had a purpose in life and that he would touch many people along the way. We are forever grateful for the many lessons we learned from this little man, and Her beautiful spirit will be greatly missed.
He further asked, “Lord [to] Hold him in your hands, renew his broken body, and give him life again.”
“It’s not goodbye but see you soon little man….. We love you Grayson. You will always be in our hearts ❤️,” she concluded the post, which featured her, Smiley, and their daughter. Skyler Gray had a joint statement.
Rossi and Smiley — who have been together for 13 years — share daughter Skylar Gray, 3, whom they welcomed after a long IVF journey. Her middle name is actually in honor of Grayson.
Grayson’s mother and Smiley’s ex-wife Michelle Arroyo also confirmed the news on her social media, giving more information about his passing.
Arroyo – who also shares son Gavin, 29, with Smiley – told her followers that his death was “unexpected” as he was “doing very well” after battling a fever, infection and low potassium. who “probably cost my life. dear boys’ hearts.”
However, she detailed that on Sunday, “her heart stopped here at home” and she “performed chest compressions to continue until the paramedics arrived and took over. “
They managed to bring him back and “when they left for the hospital he looked fine and was breathing on his own but at the hospital his heart was beating again.”
She added, “I’m still in shock and going through the motions of dealing with all the details. I know Gray is playing cards with Gramma and playing tribble with our dear Diane. His dog. Moe is on his right because he never left her.
