“Real Housewives of Miami” star Gordy Abraira is happy to report that Martina Navratilova is “doing great” a month after revealing the tennis legend’s cancer diagnosis.
“It looks very, very positive,” says Abreira, 45, on Page Six’s “Virtual Real-T” podcast.
“And it’s on the prevention side, when they find out, it’s early. And we [pray] And that’s it. We are keeping our heads down and [hoping] For the best for him.”
The respected event planner — who appears on “RHOM” alongside Navratilova’s wife, Julia Lemigova — notes that women stay positive despite health scares.
“I spoke. [Lemigova] As soon as it happened. We were supposed to get together for my birthday, but obviously he had to take care of some things medically for Martina,” she says.
“They are in great spirits, which is good news.”
Nuratilova announced on January 2 that she was battling both throat cancer and breast cancer. After some time, his treatment started.
The 18-time Grand Slam singles champion said in a statement to the Women’s Tennis Association that “this double twist is serious but still fixable, and I am hoping for a favorable outcome.” “It’s going to stink for a while, but I’m going to fight with everything I’ve got.”
That same day, Lemigova, 50, shared a touching Instagram post, thanking those who keep Navratilova in their thoughts as she battles the disease.
“Thank you to everyone who reached out to share words of support,” the model wrote via Instagram alongside a photo of herself and the retired athlete, 66, with their dog.
“Together, we will fight this ♥️,” he added.
Navratilova explained that she first noticed an enlarged lymph node in her neck while attending the 2022 WTA Finals in Fort Worth, Texas, in November. A subsequent biopsy revealed stage 1 throat cancer, and further testing led to the discovery of stage 1 breast cancer.
Noratilova previously had breast cancer in 2010 and underwent a lumpectomy.
A few days before Nuratilova revealed her latest diagnosis, a tender moment between herself and Limgova aired on “Miami” — which Abriara thought was kismet.
“The beautiful thing about it is that it happened. [the diagnosis announcement] Coinciding with this episode,” she says of the December 29 episode.
Lemigova and Navratilova — who made history as the “Housewives” franchise’s first same-sex couple when “RHOM” is rebooted for the Peacock in 2021 — shared a romance while swimming together during golden hour. shared a kiss
Rushing off into the sunset, Lemgowa – dressed in a flowing red dress – jumped off his seaside manse dock and waited in the water to surprise his wife, who dove in seconds later. .
“It was so ‘White Lotus’ in the imagery of the final scene of the episode where Julia is hiding in the water,” Abrera said of the cinematic sequence. “That’s the best scene of the whole season so far, for me.”
The vocal LGBTQIA+ ally explains, “I’m like, it’s, ‘Love is love.’ Love is love and this is a perfect example to show you how amazing it is, you know? I love it!”
Before the scene, Lemigova opened up about her and Navratilova’s marital challenges this season of “RHOM.”
Spouses clashed particularly over Lemigova’s empty nest syndrome, which came into full force after she moved into a new home without her children. However, he and Nuratilova eventually found a compromise in their decision to adopt a second child, as seen in Thursday’s new episode.
“This will be the first time I’m going to have a baby with someone. Martina came into our lives when I’ve been a single mother three times,” the Russian beauty said in the confessional.
“And I’ve never experienced what it feels like when your partner actually wants to have a baby with you. For me, having a partner, it’s just the first time, so I’m very emotional about it. I am.”
Lemigova is mother to Victoria, 23, and Emma, 16, from previous relationships. She also welcomed a son, Maximilian, in 1999, but he tragically died as an infant under suspicious circumstances.
Lemigova and Navratilova have been a couple since 2006. They got engaged at the US Open in September 2014 and married in New York City that December.
