Roma surrenders 3-1 to Juventus 4-3 in crazy game

In a crazy game at the Stadio Olimpico, Roma took a 3-1 lead in a 4-3 loss to Juventus.

Gilarrozzi took a 1-0 lead through Tammy Abraham before Paolo Dybala equalized in the 18th minute.

Roma was then hit twice by Henrikh Mkhitaryan and skipper Lorenzo Pellegrini after half-time, when he bent over a superb free-kick from range.

But Juve made a spectacular comeback by scoring three goals in seven minutes.

Summer signing Manuel Locatelli pulled one back, Dejan Kulusevskiy hit the equalizer and then Matia Di Siglio completed a dramatic turn in the 77th minute.

Yet that was not the end of the play. Mathijs de Ligt was sent out for handling the ball in the area and the hosts were awarded a penalty.

Pellegrini stepped up but, unlike his previous set-piece effort, the Italian’s spot-kick was tamed and Wojciech Szczesny saved before the rebound was put wide.

Jose Mourinho’s interview and press conference promises to be very spicy.

Roma are eighth in Serie A, with their city rival Lazio in scoring position.

Juventus are in fifth place and are under-performing but the incredible win for Max Allegri’s men means they are six points ahead of Roma.
