Roman Reigns won the main event of money in the bank, as he defeated Edge and forced the WWE Universe to accept him once again. His victory was yet another example of the dominance he displayed over the majority of the SmackDown roster.
However, the night didn’t end there for Reigns as a surprise awaits as the show nears its finale.
One of Reigns’ former rivals, John Cena, made a strong return to WWE and stole the limelight from The Tribal Chief. It looks like both men are set to clash for the Universal title at this year’s SummerSlam.
Roman Reigns addressed the return of the Senation Leader on Twitter, saying that there are two constants in WWE. One, he said that all these legends come back, and second, they would all be accepted by him at the end of the day.
It looks like Roman Reigns is not too upset over the return of the 16-time World Champion. It will be interesting to see if there is any heated conversation between the two in the coming weeks.
Roman Reigns and The Bloodline are wrapped in gold
Roman Reigns’ victory over Edge at Money in the Bank means The Bloodline now finds itself surrounded by championship gold. Earlier in the night, The Usos defeated Mysterio to begin their seventh reign as Tag Team Champions.
It will be interesting to see whether Mysterio will join hands with John Cena to end The Bloodline’s dominance on SmackDown.
Rey and Dominic Mysterio controversially lost the title and could go after The Usos on this week’s episode of SmackDown.
