Ron DeSantis scores education win, media deals him the ‘racist’ card for it

Anyone who watches left-wing cable news channels knows that it’s considered an appropriate comment to categorize Republicans, individually or collectively, as “white nationalists” or “white supremacists.” Anyone who stands in the way of the Black Lives Matter/Critical Race Theory crusade is dealt the racist card.

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis scored a political victory in pressuring the College Board to scale back a proposed Advanced Placement course in “African American Studies.” Every conservative knows from experience that when you put “studies” in front of a minority group — black studies, queer studies, Native American studies, women’s studies — you can expect a very ideological journey.

DeSantis dared to take on the left, and for that, he was scorned by the press, especially the under-40 contingent that most fervently “woke up.” On February 1, when CNN anchor Beanna Goldrega asked former Obama Education Secretary Arne Duncan heatedly about DeSantis’ objections, she drew the expected results.

Duncan began: “Unfortunately, you know, Governor DeSantis has been very clear that he has a white nationalist agenda.” Duncan offered no evidence for his inflammatory smear, and Goldrega did not ask for it.

Duncan wasn’t finished: “And what I hate the most is that he always attacks the most vulnerable, whether it’s AP African-American History, whether it’s the LGBTQ community, whether it’s Be it an immigrant, he always attacks the weakest.” He added that he hopes voters “don’t think that’s what our country needs — more bullying, more attacks on people who need our help and our support.”

Democrats always act as if only their constituents are “weak” and can never be politely challenged or criticized for anything because it’s “bullying.” His supporters can never be extremists or vile or hateful. But if you’re black or gay or an immigrant and you criticize Democrats, it’s clearly different. Then you are a traitor to your community.

The Big Lie — to borrow daily CNN lingo — is that Republicans object to the teaching of slavery or segregation in American history classes, or, as Duncan claims, they want to “hide the hard parts.” ” Instead, objections center on contemporary propaganda’s promotion of “intersectionality and activism,” “incarceration and abolition,” and Black Lives Matter.

Later that day, CNN host Laura Coates announced the need to “clarify and fact-check what’s been said” and brought up Robert Patterson, who teaches African-American studies at Georgetown University. Naturally, he suggested that DeSantis & Co. Marinating in white supremacy: “What this course is doing is challenging white supremacy, challenging anti-black racism, and quite frankly, it seems to Part of the problem lies in the state of Florida. Taken with the course.”

CNN didn’t tell viewers how radical the professor was. In 2020, Patterson described Black Lives Matter in a scholarly journal as his “rejection of capitalism as a broader critique of neoliberalism’s overwhelming role in perpetuating black dispossession” and “offering a framework for , through which short-term change can be effected, insisting on dismantling the larger system of black racism that is entrenched by global capitalism.”

Patterson works at a “Catholic” college and also praised BLM for their “concerted attack against intraracial sexism, heterosexism, and transphobia,” as “BLM for showing that black Dreams of freedom must include gender and sexual freedom.” So, let’s imagine if Patterson was fully in favor of the AP course before DeSantis objected, you can understand how hard it would try to brainwash high school kids.

Ron DeSantis was re-elected with only 59 percent of the vote, but CNN and their left-wing guests like to suggest that he is the one who is “out of the mainstream.”
