San Francisco father ambushed while washing car then robbed, family held captive


San Francisco police have reportedly launched a search operation for two suspects after a man alleged they were confronted at gunpoint while washing their car – and then robbed their home, While he and his family were held captive inside their bathroom.

The incident – which was partly captured on surveillance video – happened near McLaren Park on Friday evening, according to KGO

“A car drove towards my house, five seconds later I was ambushed at gunpoint,” the victim told the station on condition of anonymity.

The man says a suspect took him upstairs and ordered him, his wife and two daughters to go to the bathroom and asked “Where’s the money?”

According to the KGO report, unidentified people robbed thousands of dollars worth of jewelry.

Surveillance footage shows the victim dropping a bucket of water and a hose as one of the suspects is running towards him.

The victim then puts his hand up when he is directed towards the garage of the house.

The victim’s 11-year-old daughter told KGO, “I was thinking that either someone is going to get shot or someone like our neighbors will call the police, and then it is going to be a hostage situation.”

The father says he had bruises around his eye as the suspects pushed his face into a wall, but there was no harm to the rest of his family.

“I love the city, but the city is changing. Be careful. Be careful, if you have to wash your cars, do it to the neighbour,” he told KGO.

The police is now talking of investigating the incident.
