Police in New Jersey are looking for a man who threw a Molotov cocktail at a synagogue.

Rabbi Chanukoff says, “This action is terrifying. To have a stranger come in and start shooting in your synagogue, in your place where you should feel safe.”

“Here comes a guy, I ask him, ‘Do you speak Russian?’ He said yes. I asked him, come with us. I didn’t hear, but some people said, he said, ‘I’m going to show you something,'” one of the attendees, who identified himself as He says he didn’t want to reveal it.

Police added Friday night that Machin is also connected to another incident that occurred around 8 p.m. Tuesday, when they say he entered a theater on Balboa Street with a handgun. He then fled the scene. No one was injured.

Rabbi Chenukoff steadfastly claimed that this was a hate crime.

“I believe it might have been when he said, ‘Say hello to the Mossad for me,'” Chinukoff says. “And so he was harming the Mossad by terrorizing Jews in America in this one synagogue. I’m not really clear. Obviously, I think the man is insane, the man is mentally ill. “
