Senator Hawley denounces Biden’s “fear and bullying” campaign: “It is a failure of leadership”

Senator Josh Hawley R-Missouri, tore President Biden’s attempts to use a “fear and intimidation” campaign to keep Americans in a “perpetual state of crisis” during Monday’s “LBL Primetime” , claiming that the White House ultimately wants to “centralize control and power over people’s lives.”

SEN. JOSH HAWLEY: What we’re seeing is Joe Biden and the left using a campaign of fear and intimidation to try to keep the country in a state of perpetual crisis and ultimately centralize control and power over the people’s lives. It’s as simple as that. I mean, Joe Biden has to stop forcing America to live in fear. Rather, it is time to talk about the end of this pandemic. The end is now in sight and how we will get there. But that’s not what you hear from this White House. You have a constant drumbeat of sowing fear. You have contradictory directions. You have conflicting statements. You have demonizing people who disagree with him or people who are worried about this or that aspect of the pandemic. I mean, it’s amazing. It is a failure of leadership. But the attempt to force this country to live in a perpetual state of fear is wrong. And that’s not leadership.

The Missouri Republican has also sounded the left’s push for a critical theory of race in schools, calling the academic movement “bogus” and opposing his belief that school districts that receive ” taxpayer funds “should be required to teach the US founding documents.

HAWLEY We have to be clear that Critical Race Theory is wrong. It is simply not true that this country was founded in 1619. It is not true that this country is systematically racist. It is not true that the Constitution was written and imbued with white supremacy. But you can’t replace lies with nothing. You must replace the lies with the truth. And that’s why I think we should require every school district in the United States that receives taxpayer funds to teach our actual founding documents. I’m talking about the Bill of Rights, the Constitution, the Declaration of Independence. These are the documents that contain our founding principles. This is what unites us as Americans. This is what we love together as Americans. And that’s why I think we should say, hey, let’s teach our kids what’s really true, and that’s how we fight these lies.
