Senators postponed against Rangers because of Ottawa’s COVID-19 outbreak

The Rangers match with the Senators has been postponed on November 20 as Ottawa seeks control of its COVID-19 outbreak.

After 10 players and assistant coach Jack Capuano tested positive for coronavirus over the past 10 days, the NHL took action and postponed the Senators’ next three games. Goalie Matt Murray, defenseman Nikita Zaitsev and center Drake Patterson and Josh Norris are among the senators left out of the lineup.

Ottawa was scheduled to travel to New Jersey to face the Devils on Tuesday before returning home to face the Predators and the Rangers on Saturday, but all three were postponed.

It is not clear when the Rangers’ adjustment with the Senators will be made.

The NHL has not seen many COVID-19 outbreaks so far this season. The Sharks and Penguins are the other teams with a significant number of cases currently. San Jose had seven players, defenseman Eric Carlson and top-line winger Timo Meyer and coach Bob Bougner entered the COVID-19 protocol. The Penguins had some players in the protocol, including captain Sidney Crosby and coach Mike Sullivan.
