Hey listeners, this is Brett Molina. Welcome back to Talking Tech.

Tell me if this is a situation you know. You’re on Spotify. You are listening to music. You listen to a cool song. Maybe you can hear what you think you’ve heard and you’re not sure, and you want to look at the lyrics. The problem is, you can’t do that on Spotify. You have to go to Google, do a Google search or go to Genius, a service that shows you the lyrics of the song and you’ll find that information.

Not anymore. Spotify has come up with a new feature that a lot of users, including myself, have been waiting for for a long time now that Spotify has launched the lyrics to all of its songs for users all over the world. What does that mean? Basically, what you can do, if you’re on a mobile app, play any song you want. Click on the tab you’re playing now. When the song pops up on the screen, you swipe up and the real-time lyrics playing it pop up.

You can skip ahead, or get back to your favorite part of the song, and the lyrics are right where you stop. You can also do this on your computer. You click on the microphone icon that shows up now and the lyrics pop up the same way. I cannot tell you how long this has been overdue. With some songs, I know they partnered with Genius, where, in some cases, you can see that lyrics, but now every song has it. I mean, it’s too late. It feels like one of the features of “Where was it years ago? It should have been a long time on Spotify” but it’s finally here now.

Finally, you have all the information in front of you. You don’t have to go to Google while you’re listening to the song, it’s just waiting on the Spotify app. You can read more about this and more tech news at tech.USAtoday.com.
