Steve Macklin is very happy with the direction of WWE NXT 2.0

Steve Macklin has been wrestling since 2013. He has had some ups and downs in this business, but has settled down quite well in his position on Impact Wrestling. After a single year on The Independent, he started with WWE – specifically NXT and will spend 7 years with the company as a whole. He recently made a statement about the new direction of his old Stamping Grounds, NXT.

Of course, he wrestled as Steve Cutler in his NXT / WWE days. It was at the time of their appearance Fightful PodcastMacklin has talked about the new direction of NXT… From the days of the Black & Gold brand to the new version 2.0, which is currently being heavily criticized by many pro wrestling fans, he had a few things to say. .

“I’m very happy with what’s going on. When I got there in 2014, I had this conversation with a lot of people who were at NXT. The vision that this was going to be a mainstream product had to be for all these athletes.

It prepares you. That changed when there was this influx of indie talent. It was so hot, and it was a bubble that needed to burst and it worked. Then obviously after a while, it didn’t work. This is something different. If you want to tune in, go ahead.

He recently faced Trey Miguel for the X-Division Championship at Hard to Kill and lost the match, but before he was ready to take the ring, he made these statements about the fact that the X-Division is usually reserved for small talents. Maclin cannot be accused of being: small. He said:

“So basically when I was signing it was before Slammiversary and I was like, ‘Hey, we want to bring you in as a tag team.’ I said, ‘Well, I have a partner, and he leaves.’ That’s how it worked out with Wesley Blake, and about a week later, we said, ‘We’ll bring you in before the Slamiversary, and let the vignettes go.’

We are certainly at a crossroads in our careers, but I felt I needed to make singles. I have never made it on my own. I have tried and with inputs it has never worked with NXT. That’s why we are a tag team, but with an influx of talent, just the way it worked, but you find a way to get on TV. So now here I am riding a roller coaster, and since it started, I’ve had a lot of fun, especially the X-Division because it’s a clash of styles.

Macklin has plenty of future ahead of him. He’s got quite a bit of TV time in Impact Wrestling, and the X-Division is just the tip of the iceberg for this great talent. He had his own against the smaller and seemingly faster Miguel and he should be in the top storyline soon. Dear readers, we will keep you posted.
