On Wednesday, members of the Anchorage Assembly voted to appoint Suzanne LaFrance to a new position.
LaFrance, who represents South Anchorage, was nominated by Felix Rivera, a former acting member of the Assembly.
The Assembly also voted to appoint Christopher Constant, who represents the city center, as acting deputy.
Constant was nominated by candidate Meg Zaletel. Assembly member Jamie Allard had also nominated member Crystal Kennedy for the position of deputy.
The changes will take place before Mayor Dave Bronson, who was elected on July 1, takes office on July 1. Acting Mayor Austin Quinn-Davidson will chair the Assembly and the Assembly will once again vote to reorganize.
