The Nets don’t want to hear about their game against the Suns

After spending Thanksgiving Day with family and friends, the Nets enter their showdown with the Phoenix on Saturday in the Eastern Conference, winning 12 of their last 14.

Those white-hot suns? The NBA Finalists have snatched 14 in a row, with just one game on the Knicks on Friday to bring a 15-game streak to the Barclays Center. He’s a tough test, like the Nets, laughing in Boston, which was a complete show of his season.

“Of course. … And we can continue to build it, ”said James Harden. “We get back home, we have the sun, we all know how they’re playing. This is going to be another big test for us. But we have to keep getting better, growing, finding things that work, finding things that don’t work and pushing on both ends.”

Devin Booker is averaging 23.1 points per game and Chris Paul has an average of 10.4 assists per Sun, so Saturday was a test for the Nets. Don’t call it a measuring stick.

Defeat or win, this is the narrative that pushed back against the Nets.

“Whose measuring stick? For all of you? Not for us, ”Harden joked. “If anyone is looking at Saturday as a statement game, it’s not the Nets.

“Nah. It’s 20 games in a season. It is not a measuring stick. We are still trying to find ourselves and our identity. We don’t measure up – we let the media blow it up and talk about it. This does not give you more wins or more losses.

“Obviously, we want to play well, but we want to play every game well.… They all count on one thing.

The Nets (14-5) hope they’ll be better off with the last, the so-called Measuring-Stick Game, Nov. 16 and the league-leading Golden State. That night, the Nets took a 117-99 baton from the Warriors and, frankly, the final score impressed them. It wasn’t that close.

Now winning four in a row, the Nets have improved. The Suns (15-3) provide a golden opportunity to gauge if those improvements have stuck.

“We measure every day. Every day we measure who you are,” Kevin Durant said. “We understand that these teams are coming up and the teams are playing well. But it’s November. Every team wants to be around. [into] Shape. … I’m not saying we want to give any games. But win or lose, I don’t think it tells us much about where we are going as a team.

“We obviously want to get out there and stick to our principles and make that thing better. Looking at it from the outside, I understand the records and narratives around the games and things, but I don’t think it can tell us much about what’s going to happen on the line.

Bruce Brown (hamstring) is expected to return to the Nets on Saturday. … Kevin Durant – who grew up in Prince George’s County (Md.) – is helping to revive an old arena of Baltimore bullets.

The YES Network airs the second half of a sit-down interview with Nets co-owner Clara Wu Tsai on Saturday’s pregame show.
