The wild will be less.
When the Red Sox won their 6-2 AL Wild Card against the Yankees in the traditional fashion – sprinkling and sprinkling bottles of champagne on top of the clubhouse – their WAGS took the classic approach by drinking it.
Chelsea, the wife of Red Sox pitcher Matt Barnes, posted pictures of their celebration with the caption “We got it.” Chelsea also gave a shout out to champagne-filled glasses in their suits, saying they were “the charms of luck”. Catcher Kevin’s wife, Taylor Plowecky, celebrated when she doubled down on one of those glasses.
Kiko Hernandez’s wife brought their adorable baby girl to the game because she had her father’s last name and number on the back.
Barnes and winning pitcher Nathan Ivaldi posed for a photo with their wives at the pre-Champagne shower on the field.
Catherine, wife of Jason Varitek, has written a tribute to WAGs and players.
“We’re good cheers to the #GirlsClubofBoston, gentleman!” Said Catherine, whose husband Alex is on the Cora staff.
Pitcher Garrett Whitlock’s wife poses on the field, with her man heading to the picture.
“Tonight was WILDDDD. Next stop is Tampa #BelieveinBoston #WildCardChamps #WeAreWhitlock.”
The WAGS team celebrated their winning streak with a rip of two different sweatshirts to commemorate the victory. One sweet shirt said “Let’s Get Wild” down “Trust Boston” and another top said “Still good.”
The theme of “Let’s Get Wild” was very clear as almost all wives wrote that line on social media.
The Red Sox – and their significant others – have a day to recover before the ALDS start Thursday against rival rays.
