A viral video taken at the University of Western Carolina shows a tampon dispenser in a male bathroom and it is written that the machine was paid for using student fees.
“The University of Western Carolina uses student fees for tampons in men’s bathrooms,” the Twitter account that first posted the tweet said on Libs of Ticktock Wednesday.

In the 14-second video, you can see the tampon dispenser sign that the machine was part of the pilot program for the school’s student affairs department.

The sign states, “The resources of this pilot are student fees and auxiliary operations funds.”
A spokesman for the university told LBL Digital that the matter is being reviewed.
In 2019, The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) Men’s restrooms have been called upon to add tampons to prevent discrimination against “every single men who become menstrual.”

“Although free menstruation products are not uniformly provided in women’s restrooms, they are never available in men’s restrooms, even for wages,” the group said. In a statement. “Men’s restrooms are less likely to have a place to dispose of these products conveniently, privately and healthily.”
