Controversy continues to rage over the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
On Tuesday, Agustina Gandolfo, the girlfriend of Argentina national team striker Lautaro Martinez, was taken to the hospital after finding a glass in a drink in a club in Doha, reports The Sun. Gandolfo was reportedly at a mall celebrating Argentina’s semi-final win over Croatia with his sister and brother’s partner when the group alerted security to the discovery of glass shards inside the bottle.
After the examination, doctors found that Gandolfo was not injured, reports Daily Mail. The 26-year-old businessman has reportedly hit back at rumors that he and the band planted glass in their drinks, writing on Instagram: “Shame, we have complaints and witnesses in the club.”
Gandolfo and Martinez welcomed a daughter, Nina Martinez, in February 2021.
In a separate incident on Wednesday night, the Daily Mail reported that some of the wives, girlfriends and children of Argentina’s players had to leave the five-star Waterfront Hotel due to power cuts. The guests reportedly moved to another luxury hotel on the island due to safety concerns.
