Young Fathers have shared another new single from their album Heavy Heavy called “Tell Someone”.
The track follows the releases of “Geronimo” in July and “I’ve Seen” in October. All three songs appear on Heavy Heavy, the trio’s fourth studio album and first in nearly five years since 2018’s Cocoa Sugar.
The release of “Tell Someone” was accompanied by a music video directed by Nigerian-Austrian director David Uzochukwu. The clip features slow-motion footage of a rock formation along the beach, of a figure walking along it until it reaches the shoreline. Watch the video below:
After announcing their new album last month, the Scottish trio shared a statement regarding its title. “Heavy Heavy” could be a mood, or describe the polished bass granite that underpins the sound,” they said. “Or it could be boys growing into grown men and the inevitable damage of life, a joyous burden. , a relationship, a family, can be the natural pace of a group that has been around long enough to witness major changes.
“You cast out the demons and you’re done with it. Figure it out later.”
Young Fathers will embark on a UK and Ireland tour from the end of February in support of Heavy Heavy, kicking off in Bristol on Sunday 26th February. Tickets are available for the trio’s UK shows. Here.
